Taarana Celebrates Chinese New Year 2026 with Unity, Joy and Prosperity
PETALING JAYA – 12 February 2026 Taarana marked the celebration of Chinese New Year with excitement and a strong spirit of togetherness. The center’s community came together to usher in the Year of the Horse with warmth, unity, and joyful energy.
The celebration began with an engaging introduction Chinese New Year, during which students learned about the traditions and meaningful symbols of the festive season. The centre compound was filled with vibrant colours as students arrived in beautiful traditional attire, including hanfu, cheongsam, and other costumes, adding to the festive atmosphere.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the day was the Yee Sang tossing ceremony. Students gathered around the table and tossed the Yee Sang high into the air. The higher the Yee Sang was tossed, the greater the blessings and prosperity (Ong) to be received throughout the year. The activity not only symbolised abundance but also strengthened the bond among students as they celebrated together.

The celebration continued with a variety of fun and interactive activities. Students participated in the “Hungry Snake Challenge,” and expressed their creativity through DIY lantern-making and fish art activities. Each activity was done to encourage cultural appreciation and joyful learning.
Taarana’s Chinese New Year celebration was a meaningful reminder of the importance of unity, cultural appreciation, and shared happiness within our diverse community. The event truly reflected the spirit of togetherness and festive joy.
Gong Xi Fa Cai! Xin Nian Kuai Le!
