Taarana Sports Day 2025: Embracing the ‘Winds of Colour’ was a joyful celebration of unity, inclusion, and the boundless spirit of children.
5 July 2025, PETALING JAYA – Our Annual Sports Day 2025 was a testament to our ongoing commitment at Taarana, a centre dedicated to supporting children with special learning needs. It was held at Dewan Serbaguna MBPJ SS3.
The theme for this year, “Winds of Colour,” beautifully captured the spirit of a vibrant and inclusive day. Just like the wind carries colours across the sky, every child brings their own rhythm, energy, and joy,” said Dr. Sunitha Sivakumaran, Principal of Taarana School.
The event began with a lively and spirited march past, featuring the enthusiastic teams—Red Dragon, StormCore Heroes, and Dino Dashers. The students proudly marched in their vibrant team colours, radiating excitement, unity, and school spirit. This energetic opening was followed by a series of engaging and action-packed games that showcased the students’ dedication, hard work, and determination.
They eagerly participated in a variety of thrilling games such as Zig-Zag Disc, Running Cookies, Balance In and Out, and Windmill Run. From skillfully zigzagging between cones while balancing a disc, to carefully moving rings forward with a stick, each station was designed to challenge their coordination, agility, and teamwork. The atmosphere buzzed with joyful energy and cheerful encouragement as students moved enthusiastically from one activity to the next, creating a vibrant, high-spirited environment where effort, collaboration, and fun blended seamlessly.
Mr George, one of the participating parents, shared how proud he was to see his child, Josiah, so excited to join the activities: “My son is energetic about participating in the game, and I’m delighted to see his involvement,” he said.
“I truly appreciate the teachers and staff for nurturing Josiah’s development through inclusive activities like this, which help build his confidence and sense of belonging.”
One of the highlights of the day was the parent-child relay challenge, where pairs worked together across multiple fun stations. The game showcased teamwork and sparked laughter, making it a memorable part of the day. Watching parents help their children through various stations was a touching sight.
The event concluded with a joyful prize-giving ceremony, where all students and participants were applauded for their effort, spirit, and determination. Taarana’s Annual Sports Day is more than just a sporting event. It’s a powerful reminder of what inclusion, empowerment, and community look like in action.
