Taarana School Annual Day: Celebrating Growth, Talent and Inclusion
This year’s Taarana School Annual Day once again turned the spotlight on imagination, growth, and joy, transforming the venue into a stage of colour, music, and unbridled student spirit.
As families and guests settled into the auditorium, the year’s theme, ‘Arabian Market Mysteries,’ began to unfold on stage. What followed was a vibrant mix of colour, music, and confidence that revealed just how much the school’s students have grown over the year.
Student Talent Shines at Taarana School Annual Day
The sketch opened in the middle of a bustling market, alive with sound and colour. Songs like A Whole New World, Grease Lightnin’, The Circle of Life, and the Pirates of the Caribbean theme carried the story as students danced and moved effortlessly between scenes. The mix of calm and chaos felt true to life, a reminder that joy can exist even in a little mess, and not every moment needs to be so serious.
Student Nur Adena Maysara, whose growth at Taarana has been extraordinary, opened the next segment with a solo performance of One Day by Arash, carrying the song with quiet confidence that drew the auditorium toward her. From there, Herveen Muralitharan and Muhammad Syahir Mirza Mahathir Hussain took their places at the keyboard, giving the audience a glimpse of their progress and hard work.
Next, the students launched into a lively group dance with Chan Mali Chan, the familiar folk tune that filled the hall with warmth and a bit of mischief, before Maysara returned to close the set with Sia’s Unstoppable.
Another highlight was the launch of The Magic of Recycling, an interactive workbook created by special education teacher Joanne Matilda John. A short performance using recycled props brought the idea to life, tying in with the award-winning school’s growing Zero Waste Project that reflected the school’s commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community progress.

Datin Seri Umayal Eswaran, Chairperson of RYTHM Foundation, said the day reflected the school’s commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community progress
“Each year, this day becomes more than a celebration. It serves as a reminder of how far we’ve come as a community and how deeply we believe in the power of compassion, inclusion, and hope—our deepest gratitude to the teachers and therapists who give their hearts and souls to this mission. You are guides and sometimes a second family to these children. Thank you for everything you do and for reminding us of what dedication looks like.”
With pride in her students’ growth, Taarana’s Principal, Dr Sunitha Sivakumaran, said,
“Today isn’t just a showcase of talent. Every smile, note, and step on stage tells a story of resilience, highlighting each child’s journey and the effort they put into learning and supporting one another.”
The event was attended by QI Group Founder and Executive Chairman Dato’ Sri Vijay Eswaran, members of the QI Board of Directors, senior executives, and the wider RYTHM Foundation family, all celebrating the progress of Taarana’s children and the dedicated educators who continue to nurture them with compassion and commitment.
