Turning Waste into Wonder: Taarana’s Inspiring Collaboration with PPKI Programmes
10 July 2026, Petaling Jaya- Taarana collaborated with the Special Education Integration Programme (PPKI) from three schools under the Petaling Utama District, SK (Satu) Sultan Alam Shah, SK (2) Sultan Alam Shah, and SJKT Vivekananda. Together, Taarana hosted an engaging, hands-on recycling awareness programme designed to inspire environmental responsibility through creativity and inclusion.
Bringing Sustainability to Life
The highlight of the event was a special session featuring The Magic of Recycling, a book authored by Taarana’s teacher, Joanne Matilda. The book served as the springboard to introduce the students to the core concepts of caring for our planet.
Demonstrating incredible imagination and resourcefulness, they gave everyday waste materials a second life through fun upcycling projects:
- Aluminum Cans were transformed into colorful, personalized pencil holders.
- Old T-Shirts were cleverly redesigned into reusable tote bags.
- Plastic Bottles were repurposed into functional, self-watering planters.
Nurturing an Inclusive Future
Beyond the classroom, this event marked a significant milestone in building institutional networks. The team was honored to connect with Encik Ramli, Principal of SK (dua) Sultan Alam Shah and Puan Rosnani, Vice Principal of Administration of SK (satu) Sultan Alam Shah to celebrate this shared milestone. Expressing her enthusiasm for the initiative, Puan Rosnani shared:
“Saya berharap ini bukan kali terakhir kerjasama antara Taarana dan SK Alam Shah 1. Semoga ini menjadi satu jalinan kerjasama yang berterusan bersama program PPKI.”
