PETALING JAYA – 28TH November 2025, Taarana held a vibrant and memorable celebration for Children’s Day, making the occasion truly special for all students. This year, the focus was entirely on messy play, a fun, hands-on approach that encourages children to connect, create, and explore in a free and joyful environment.

The school assembly hall was filled with laughter and colour as the students engaged in a series of thoughtfully planned activities designed to enhance motor skills and sensory tolerance.

Creativity and Sensory Exploration
The day kicked off with an energetic Pass-the-Ball Game, a simple but effective activity that taught social skills like sharing and turn-taking, setting a positive tone for the day.

The messy play then began in earnest:

• DIY T-Shirt Creation: Children unleashed their talents by painting their own T-shirts. This hands-on activity was a joyful way for them to express their creativity and create a unique, self-made keepsake.

• The Colourful Rice Bucket: Vibrant display of colourful rice became a source of sensory joy. The act of filling and dumping buckets not only improved motor skills but also taught the children responsibility, as they were encouraged to clean up their own delightful spills and messes.

• Sensory Ocean Bin: The highlight of the sensory stations was the Ocean Bin, which offered three distinct textures. This tactile experience was designed specifically to enhance sensory engagement and encourage creative play.

A Banner of Togetherness

The grand finale saw the children collaborating on a colourful Children’s Day banner. Using vibrant paints and handprint art, they created a collective masterpiece that perfectly captured the joy and spirit of the day.

As a bonus, the students were treated to a Mystery Box experience. They had to reach inside the box and select the first item they touched as their Children’s Day gift. This surprise added a final layer of excitement to the celebration. At Taarana, this day was dedicated to celebrating the unique journey of the children, providing them with an environment full of joy, expression, and sensory growth. Seeing their smiles and hearing their pure laughter throughout the day confirmed that it was truly a successful and meaningful celebration.
