PETALING JAYA – 29 August 2025, Taarana was filled with joyful togetherness and unity as we celebrated Merdeka with all our students. Merdeka Day marks Malaysia’s independence from British colonial rule, a historic moment achieved on August 31, 1957, symbolising the birth of a free and united nation.

“At Taarana, Merdeka celebrations allow students to express pride, build confidence, and connect deeply with our nation’s story,” shared Dr. Sunitha, Principal of Taarana.

The celebration combined learning with fun, allowing students to explore Malaysia’s journey while engaging in activities that promoted teamwork and togetherness. The day was filled with the spirit of Malaysia, as students were introduced to the nation’s rich history, diverse culture, and everyday life. This diversity reflects the unity of the Malaysian people, who come together as one despite their different backgrounds.

Special recognition was given to students who won Best Attire for showcasing traditional outfits that reflected Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity and patriotic pride. The day concluded with Layar Merdeka, a reflective closing session that reminded students of the importance of unity, resilience, and the values that continue to guide our nation.
