30th October 2025 – PETALING JAYA, Deepavali, one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in the Hindu calendar, was marked with joy and collaboration at Taarana this year. The school was beautifully transformed, with glowing and colourful diyas adorning every corner. For the children, the day was filled with engaging and meaningful activities

The teachers began the day by sharing a bright and lively introduction to Deepavali through social stories that helped the students understand the festival of lights a celebration symbolising the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.

The day started with a photo and video session to capture the students’ memories. The children and teachers then started the first activity by decorating mango leaves and hanging them on doors as a symbol of welcoming guests into their homes.

Next, came the “Find the Identical Indian Dessert” activity, where pictures of desserts were hidden in a rice container for the students to match with the real desserts. The experience offered a wonderful sensory exploration of touch and texture.

The highlight of the day was decorating rangoli with flower petals. The students chose their petal colours and arranged them with great creativity. Every petal and every shade reflected the originality of the children who designed the beautiful rangoli.

Following that, the students continued with a do-it-yourself activity where they coloured and painted diyas before lighting them along the assembly hall area. The painting and colouring activity introduced the children to the significance of Deepavali and the meaning behind the tradition of lighting lamps.

The grand finale wrapped up with a lively dance to Hindi and Tamil tunes, where the students moved with pure joy, expressing themselves freely and sharing beautiful moments of laughter and togetherness.

At Taarana, celebrations like these are more than just fun—they were opportunities for growth, connection, and cultural understanding.

This year’s celebration once again reminded everyone that every child, regardless of ability, can shine when given the right support and opportunities. As the lights dimmed and laughter filled the air, it was evident that the event had created lasting memories for everyone present.
