After months of hard work and practice, the long-awaited morning of the 12th of March finally arrived. Held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kelana Jaya (1), Taarana saw over 42 students participating in various types of activities. The sports day kicked off at 8am and ran for about 4 hours.
The children were thrilled to finally be able to put their practice into good use. Not only did they enjoy themselves, they had a healthy dose of competition and exercise too. The teachers of Taarana trained these children months prior to this and they were pleased to see that their hard work and dedication paid off.
Undoubtedly, organising and participating in an event as such requires a certain amount of patience, discipline and determination. That day, the children proved that they had these amazing characteristics and also the drive to excel and shine. The teachers and staff of Taarana demonstrated their perseverance and, frankly, outdid themselves in the preparations leading up to the event.
Directors of QI were also present to show their support for the children. The children of Taarana were truly overjoyed seeing them there. They took time out of their busy schedules to be a part of these children’s lives, all for a cause that is close to their hearts.
All of Taarana’s events are organised and developed especially for these children. They are usually incorporated with therapeutic values and input. Activities are also created to train eye-hand coordination, sensory, balance, motor skills, turn-taking, social skills and more. These customised activities are designed to let the children lead productive and wholesome lives.
